Former University of California, Irvine players for Coach George Kuntz signed with Major League Soccer or USL 1 Anthony Hamilton (Chivas USA), Brad Evans (Columbus Crew / now with Seattle Sounders), Cameron Dunn (Chivas USA), David Sias (2009 Chicago Fire/Austin Aztecs), Lawrence Smalls (LA Galaxy), and Kenny Schoeni (Chivas USA), Amani Walker (Chicago Fire), Irving Garcia (New York Red Bull), Miguel Ibarra (Portland Timbers), Spencer Thompson (Portland Timbers), Andrew Fontein (Vancouver Whitecaps), Corey Attaway (Seattle Sounders).

MLS - Ben Benditson (2004), Jonathan Thorrington, and Mike Enfield (2004) drafted by Major League Soccer are former Team Soccer Direct Campers.

Casey Schmidt, a Team Soccer Direct graduate, was drafted by MLS and signed a contract with the Colorado Rapids. Casey played his collegiate soccer at Boston College where he won Big East honors as a forward. Casey also has excelled in the classroom at Boston College and speaks the Chinese language. Casey is a native of Newbury Park and played high school soccer at Newbury Park high school.

UC Irvine Brad Evans selected for U-20 National Team

Brad Evans was selected today for the United States U-20 National Team playing in Holland. He departs June 1st, 2005 for U-20 World Cup. Brad is a former player for Tempe Soccer Club and was recruited by George Kuntz and played at UC Irvine. He was voted Midfielder of the year in the Big West Conference. He also has played this past year for the California State Select Team (National Champions), and Orange County Blue Star. All of us are proud of what he has accomplished. His little brother plays for AZFC in Arizona.


This year's teravels include: Chicago, Philadelphia, Tampa, New York, Glasgow, Scotland, Edinborough Scotland, Sterling Scotland, All the Hawaii Islands, Gotheborg Sweden, and Houston.

Jet setting is always part of a coaches life but, this is ridiculous. During the last month and a half June and July Coach George Kuntz from Team Soccer Direct has been to Alta Loma,CA (USASA Far West Regionals), Irvine (day camps), Maui (USSF D License Coaching Course), Spokane (USYSA Far West Regionals) , Boston (Brine Summit), Guatamala City, Guatamala (UCI Recruiting and Observing Municipal FC Pro Team Training),, Atascadero (DirectoOfCoaching.com Clinic) , Kauai (Day Camp), Honolulu (ODP 91's boy's and girl's Mock Camp), back to Irvine (UCI Academy), Thousand Oaks (TSD Academy), Maui (USSF D Coaches Course), Big Island (Elite Player Development Camp), Oahu (USSF E Coaching Course).

Dan Kuntz Athletic Director at CLU

When it needs to get done give a busy man more to do....Dan Kuntz has been named interim athletic director at CLU where he is also the men's and women's soccer coach. He is also the technical director/and co-founderof Apex Soccer Club and a USSF A licensed coach. He has coached at Team Soccer Direct for 27 years.

Coach Kuntz has coached four national champion teams. The California state select team the top college players in southern California.

CAL SOUTH REPEATS AS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS AT DONNELLY CUP

Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - The California South State Association Select team, coached by UC Irvine head coach George Kuntz and UCI assistant coach Chris Volk, won the national championship game in the Donnely Cup in Ft. Lauderdale and repeats as National Champions. The team competed in the National Championship Donnely Cup versus the three other regional finalists Connecticut, Texas - South, and Nebraska. The California South State Association Select team won the national championship by beating Nebraska 6–0 and Texas – South 2-0.

It is the second time that California South has won the national championship on the men's side as they repeat as national champions after winning last year’s tournament. Hector Orellana of Cal State Fullerton was named the 2003 Tournament MVP and Jason Thompson paced the team. The Most Valuable Player nominated by the national adult team coach, the coaches, and national administrators.

George Kuntz, Director of Coaching in Hawaii

Director George Kuntz just returned from Hawaii where he and 20 college coaches selected the Olympic Development Teams representing Hawaii. Several National Team Pool Players were present. Hilo Hawaii is just starting their club soccer. Coach Kuntz was present to present "Setting A Standard" to the first ever club organization on the Big Island. Coach Kuntz was asked by the Latino Soccer Coaches Association of America to be a clinician at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Convention in Philadelphia. His topic"Final Third Attacking" was tailored to the six thousand youth, high school, college, and professional coaches attending the convention. In March he was a clinician at the United States Youth Soccer Association National Convention in Atlanta, Georgia where he spoke about: "The Great Divide - Communication Between Parents and Coaches" and "Setting a Standard" for club and organizational development.

Coach George Kuntz will present topics as a lecturer in Indianapolis, Atlanta, San Diego, Hawaii, and Orange California.
